Chicago Undocumented Champion Credential - CPS Dream Fund Donation

All participants in the Chicago Undocumented Champion Credential are asked to donate their payments to the CPS Dream Fund in exchange for the PD. The fee is $300 for individual participants.

About the CPS Dream Fund:

CPS's DREAMers—undocumented students granted the right to live and study in the U.S. under 2012's federal DACA program—are not eligible for financial aid or MAP grants provided by the State of Illinois. That makes achieving a college education even more difficult for a group of students already shouldering the many burdens on non-citizenship.

The Dream Fund seeks to lend a hand to our DREAMers by offering talent- and need-based college scholarships to qualifying students.

Your contribution to the CPS Dream Fund helps provide a college education to a high-achieving CPS DREAMer who might not otherwise have the financial wherewithal to attend college.

About the Chicago Undocumented Champion Credential:

Survey results indicate that only 42% of undocumented students feel their school counselor provides postsecondary supports specific to their needs

The primary target audience is High School Counselors, College and Career Coaches, and Postsecondary Access Partners. However, the training is open all community members who work with undocumented students. This training is required for all High School Counselors.

Topics: (Full attendance at all three days is required for certification; No mixing and matching of session dates)

  • CPS Resources
  • Financial Resources
  • Legal, Mental Health, and Tax Resources

Dates: This 3-day training will be offered 3 times during the 2020-2021 School Year:

October 5-7, 2020, December 7-9th, 2020, and February 8-10th, 2021
