Whether it's gifts for our youngest students, financial help for our families and communities, or care for those impacted by loss, CFF's Compassion Fund is here to spread joy and warmth this holiday season.
School leaders underscore how vital CFF’s Compassion Fund is. It has been referred to as a "lifeline" for CPS school communities, as it has secured and distributed funding and in-kind resources to meet immediate needs across the District.
The Compassion Fund provides:
- Financial Relief for families via gift cards distributed by principals
- Newcomer/migrant-specific supports, including warm winter clothes, targeted in-school wellness programming, and translation devices
- Hygiene Care Closets stocked with essentials such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant and more
- Seasonal support such as backpacks and school supplies for Back-to-School, warm winter coats, holiday meals, and personalized gifts during the winter giving season
Children First Fund’s Compassion Fund promotes a safe, supportive, and equitable learning environment through supplementing schools’ academic, facility, social emotional learning, and wellness resources. Donations to the Compassion Fund also help meet the needs of our most vulnerable families during times of crisis. This holiday season, this includes support for migrant/newcomer students as well as others in temporary living situations.
