Help send students to the State and National HOSA Competitions!
HOSA and Health Sciences at CPS
Career and Technical Education (CTE) gives high school students a head start on preparing for college and careers. CTE offers students hands-on workforce training through job shadows, certification opportunities, and summer internships. Out of the twelve CTE cluster programs offered by Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Health Sciences is one of the most in-demand clusters among our high school students.
HOSA, an international organization that empowers future health professionals, provides CPS students with opportunities to learn about health professions and providing quality healthcare to all. Every year, HOSA hosts state and national competitions for students, and we are raising money so our students can attend and showcase their knowledge and skills at this year’s competitions. With CPS’ Five-Year Vision focused on promoting equity and narrowing the opportunity gap for students most in need, we hope you will consider contributing to this important cause. Last year, 151 CPS students qualified for the state competition and 13 students competed at the national level. The average cost per student to attend each competition was $500 and $1,200, respectively.
Participation in HOSA competitions is tremendously impactful for our students. The skills they acquire will impact their future healthcare careers and benefit the communities these students will serve in the future. We hope you will consider donating!
